The city of Estepona wanted a airport but since they couldn't they built a airfield to make small regional or across the straight of Gibraltar flights, its used to connect Malaga and Melilla and its also used as a helicopter refuelling station even there are any planes at the airfield its a very good option for helicopters even though there is only two helipads
