Earning Aeros
Earning has two halves. Flying and idling with the app open fill a daily paycheck of Ⓐ1,000 (Ⓐ2,500 for Supporters). On top of that, visiting Project Airports fields you haven't been to today pays a bonus that ignores the cap entirely — so the way to earn more is to go somewhere new.
Your daily paycheck
Think of the daily cap as a paycheck, not a punishment. Your Wallet shows a Todaybar that fills as you fly and idle, coloured by where the Aeros came from. When it's full, that half of your day is done — nothing is lost or penalised, and it resets at midnight UTC.
The cap exists to keep a machine left running overnight from out-earning a person actually flying. It deliberately does not apply to exploring.
Visiting airports pays extra
The first five different airports you visit each day each pay a bonus, and the bonus grows with every new field:
| New airport today | Bonus |
|---|---|
| 1st | Ⓐ100 |
| 2nd | Ⓐ150 |
| 3rd | Ⓐ200 |
| 4th | Ⓐ250 |
| 5th | Ⓐ300 |
| Full tour | Ⓐ1,000 |
None of this counts against the daily cap. Fly the full tour and you roughly double your day.
You don't have to land
A visit counts the moment you're inside the airport's boundary below 100 ft above the ground. The boundary is the whole airport area — the circle you build inside, from 1.8 km across a starter strip out to 5 km across on a big field — so you don't have to line up with the runway. A low pass, a go-around, a touch-and-go or a full-stop landing all count the same. Come, see the field, move on.
Your session needs at least a minute of real flight time before a visit counts, so spawning on a runway and quitting earns nothing. Normal flying always qualifies; teleports and slew tricks don't.
What earns what
| Activity | Pays | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Flying (app running) | Ⓐ1 / min × your multiplier (1–4×) | Fills the daily cap |
| Visiting a new airport | Ⓐ100–300 each, rising | 5 airports / day — ignores the cap |
| Someone visits YOUR field | Ⓐ25–400 each | 20 visitors / day — ignores the cap |
| Idle (app open, not flying) | Ⓐ1 / min | First 120 minutes (Ⓐ120) |
Flying and idling fill the paycheck. Visiting — and being visited — pays on top of it.
A worked evening
Say you sit down for an evening with an ATC client and a nav app running (two add-on categories, so a 2× flight multiplier), and you fly a short tour of four fields you've never visited:
| What you did | Aeros |
|---|---|
| 2 hours flying at 2× (120 min × Ⓐ2) | Ⓐ240 |
| An hour idling in the menus beforehand | Ⓐ60 |
| Toward the daily cap | Ⓐ300 |
| Visiting 4 new fields (100 + 150 + 200 + 250) | Ⓐ700 |
| Total banked | Ⓐ1,000 |
The tour paid more than the flying did — and it didn't touch the cap. Had you flown all evening and landed only at home, you'd have banked Ⓐ300.
The flight multiplier
Flying with a richer setup pays more per minute. The companion app (if you opt in) recognises well-known sim companions — ATC clients, online networks, career trackers, nav tools, weather engines — and counts how many categoriesyou're running alongside a live flight. That count sets your multiplier:
| Add-on categories | Tier | Flight income |
|---|---|---|
| 0 | Solo | 1× (Ⓐ1/min) |
| 1 | Connected | 1.5× (Ⓐ1.5/min) |
| 2 | Equipped | 2× (Ⓐ2/min) |
| 3 | Professional | 2.5× (Ⓐ2.5/min) |
| 4 | Full Deck | 3× (Ⓐ3/min) |
| 5+ | Command Center | 4× (Ⓐ4/min) |
Variety, not quantity - two ATC clients still count as one category. The live catalog of recognised apps is on the download page while signed in.
Your airport pays you back
When someone else visits your published airport, you get paid — and how much depends on how much you've built. Like the explore bonus, it doesn't count against your cap, so a field people want to fly to is genuinely the best income in the game.
| Invested in the field | Each visitor pays you |
|---|---|
| A bare strip | Ⓐ25 |
| Ⓐ5,000 | Ⓐ110 |
| Ⓐ22,500 | Ⓐ205 |
| Ⓐ50,000 | Ⓐ293 |
| ~Ⓐ98,000 and up | Ⓐ400 |
Up to 20 paid visitors a day. Investment keeps raising the payout, with diminishing returns, until it tops out at Ⓐ400 a visitor.
Every Aero you put into the field raises what each visitor is worth. At the top end a single visitor pays you more than their visit pays them — the builder is the business.
You're paid once per visitor per day, so a friend flying circuits over your strip pays you once, not twenty times. Build somewhere people want to fly — scenic, well-decorated, near other fields — and see Public airport pages for getting it listed.
