The story of Sandy Hook Strip
Built in 1973 near the peak of the recreational era, Sandy Hook Strip (KSYH) is a gravel strip built to serve the Sandy Hook area. It is federally owned, and primarily managed by the National Park Service as part of the Gateway National Recreation Area.
This towered airstrip features an 800m long gravel runway and 2 fuel stands, capable of handling light single-engine and twin-engine general aviation aircraft, specialized STOL turboprops, select light business jets, and various vintage or utility aircraft.
