Cool Airport, I like the fact that you're trying to make an airport that did exist but doesn't anymore.

I've just been researching and I discovered that the air force base you're trying to recreate is now Hamilton airport and was called Rukuhia Airfield. But I like How you're improving it.

And also a tip for the ground cover, you should shape it so that it fits the surrounding fields and you should also reduce the height of the airport to 0 meters/feet so that your airport blends into the surrounding terrain.
