Tekman Airport (LTKM) – Gateway to the Mountains of Eastern Türkiye Nestled in the rugged mountains of Erzurum Province, Tekman is a remote town in Eastern Türkiye known for its breathtaking scenery, long winters, and traditional rural lifestyle. The airport features a commercial apron, a dedicated General Aviation area, private hangars, a control tower, and a fire station. Flying into Tekman is where the real challenge begins. Runway 15 offers an ILS approach, but a hill just 2.5 NM before the threshold leaves little room for error. Runway 33 requires a demanding circling approach with a left turn followed by a tight right turn between the surrounding mountains before lining up with the runway.
