McSlash Field KRAT

Until 2017 there was a small uncontrolled GA asphalt runway on the grounds of Travis AFB. Utilized by the Travis Aero Club, active and retired military, reservists, civilian miltary contractors, and Civilian Air Patrol pilots. When the Hospital went through a major expansion, the field became their Rescue Helicopter pad, and the club was kicked out. The club moved to Rio Vista, Ca., some twenty miles away. The original field was flyable in MSFS 2020, not so in 2024 . . . and I wanted a field I could walk to (in game, not gonna walk that much IRL). Well, I found flat farmland 2.5 miles from my home and went to work with virtual graders, bulldozers, backhoes, and loaders. Within a few days we had a flyable field that has been reviewed as a 10/10. And dispite what you may have read on tic tok, we accepted no funding from the Chinese government. Fly in and enjoy the Cmdr's Bar n Grill, the Pilot's Lounge, and the beautiful scenery. Well lighted and operating 24/7.
