The story of BATS City Aerodrome
BATS City Aerodrome is a fictional close-in Austin airfield created for piston aircraft, STOL flying, vintage biplanes, scenic tours, and helicopters. Its name honors the bats of the Congress Avenue Bridge and its signature Runway 34 departure frames the Austin skyline ahead. Pilots come here for short-field practice, open-cockpit sightseeing, night operations, and the BATS City Skyline Departure.
