Suonenjoki Airfield EF76

A rough replication of a historic airfield that was used mainly for crop dusting and scenic flights during the summer. The airfield was opened during WWII and closed in the 1970s. Currently the site hosts warehouses and industrial buildings. The only reminders of an airfield existing on the site are a street called Lentokentänkatu ("Airport St.") and an old Soviet Ka-26 helicopter parked in the area. The helicopter was brought to the site after the airport's closure and was originally bought to be repurposed as a roadside advertisement but the plans were shelved. Currently the helicopter is rotting by the side of a road with the old Soviet registration still visible. The fictional ICAO code is derived from the postal code of Suonenjoki.
