The story of Lake Saimaa airfield
Being a former finnish air force base featuring a paved apron and runway, this airfield is located near one of the most iconic lakes in finland and is a must visit for anyone doing a trip in the area. With a local flying and gliding club, there is a big GA scheme at the airfield. A dock for amphibious aircraft along with 2 camping areas are also located at the airfield.
