The story of Ouray Airport - Switzerland of America
Ouray CO is a quaint mountain town in the San Juan Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains. Like many of the region's towns, Ouray started out as a mining community in the 1800s, but has since developed into an outdoor activity hub. Some of the area's most popular activities include ice climbing, backcountry skiing, hiking, and visiting the local hot springs pool complex. Due to its scenic location and mountain-town feel, Ouray has been dubbed "The Switzerland of America".
Ouray Airport boasts a 6000 ft (1800 m) paved runway, but the high-altitude approach into a tight box canyon makes for a challenging and dangerous experience!
When visiting, feel free to stay at any of the airport's fly-in BnBs, where you'll find your own private hangar. Otherwise, book a stay at the airport hotel and have a relaxing dip in the pool heated by the local hot springs!

I enjoyed the challenging landing of your airport, nestled snuggly between the mountains and along a winding road. Nice touch with the campers and tents! I would definitely fly in and camp IRL.

So my thoughts on this. I like the location. The neat little camping area is cool. If you scale the runway back to about 2k it would be more realistic. It's kinda to big to be what it's supposed to be. But this is not critique. It works well. I did takeoff and landing both directions. Used Cessna 185. Runway 15 goes right up a steep canyon.. tricky.
