The story of Stockton Island Airport
Carved from the pine forests of Wisconsin’s Apostle Islands during World War II, Stockton Island Airport (KSIA) began as a remote emergency airstrip for patrol aircraft guarding Lake Superior. Today, its windswept runway welcomes both bush and float planes and adventurous travelers to a rugged gateway where aviation history meets untouched wilderness.

What i love about this besides its location, is the potential, at 1st one thinks theres nothing around to fly to, but then all the surrounding islands, can have loads of these small airports, fields, seaports, or just heli pads, and can spend all day flying to one`s own empire, and earn an easy aero income from all the visitors doing the tour. this has got me thinking about my own expansion plans !!!
